| From the Clarissi:
For those of you who are eligible to nominate for this year's Hugo Awards, the deadline is approaching. The deadline for submitting nominations is March 13, 2010, 23:59 PST. That translates to 02:59 EST on March 14 for those of us in Louisville.
You are eligible to nominate for this year's Hugo Awards and the John W. Campbell Award if you were at least a supporting member of last year's Worldcon, Anticipation, or became at least a supporting member of this year's Worldcon, Aussiecon 4, before January 31.
More information, including a link to the online ballot, can be found on the Aussiecon 4 website:

Of course, I would like to suggest nominating our own Joseph T. Major for Best Fan Writer, and his and Lisa's Alexiad for Best Fanzine. And Paul Gadzikowski for Best Fan Artist.
| The February NOTA meeting will be this Saturday, February 20, at the Bon Air Regional Library, 2816 Del Rio Place. Carol Clarke will be the host for the meeting, and the topic will be Doctor Who.
The meeting will run from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and as always, NOTA meetings are free and open to the public.
| The January NOTA meeting will be this Saturday, January 16, at the Bon Air Regional Library, 2816 Del Rio Place. The topic for this month's meeting will be . . . well, I don't seem to have the list of topics with me for the moment. I will update when I have the topics list with me.
The meeting will run from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and as always, NOTA meetings are free and open to the public.
EDIT: I found the list of topics. The topic for this month's meeting is "Woulda Coulda Shoulda," and will be a group discussion.
| The main item of business at yesterday's NOTA meeting was the annual election of officers. Former Minister Of Propaganda Johnny Carruthers was elected to the Club Executive office, and has taken the title Clarissi. Linda Wyatt was elected to the Information Officer position, and has taken Oracle Of Delphi as her title. And former Grand Pooh-Bah Lee Muncy was elected to the Morale Officer position, and to the best of my knowledge, he has decided to keep that title. | | |
| The December NOTA meeting will be this Saturday, December 19, at the Bon Air Regional Library, 2816 Del Rio Place. The topic for this month's meeting will be the election of officers, and setting the schedule for 2010.
As I mentioned last time, the meeting room has already been scheduled for 2010, and NOTA has the room for the third Saturday of the month -- barring a case of the library needing it for a program of their own, of course.
The meeting will run from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and as always, NOTA meetings are free and open to the public.
And for something completely different, today is NOTA member Paul Gadzikowski's birthday. Happy birthday, Paul!
